Ever wanted to play a roleplaying game where history’s sinners raced cars and motorcycles to win the fabulous prize of not being tortured in Hell for a little while? I sure did, so I went ahead and wrote it.
On September 16, I’m launching a Kickstarter for the Dangerous Playtest Edition of Thomas Jefferson’s Speedway Hell. It’s a theater-of-the-mind game where the racing parts are tactical and detailed, and everything else is easy-breezy. It’s a game for gripping races through spectacular and surreal levels of torment, and for telling some jokes at the expense of the great and the wicked. It’s about seventy pages long and you can get it as a reasonably priced zine.
Has it been extensively playtested? No! That’s where you come in. It’s playable, I’ve run it a few times, but part of the project here is you get access to give me feedback. If you want your game carefully polished, this ain’t that. If you’re curious to see me take on chase and race mechanics as a focus, you won’t want to miss it.
