I have written a slow-burn horror story and it can be yours for five dollars.
The story is called The House of Bodies and it’s about how most people hate the skin in which they live… at least some of the time. Plain women wish they were pretty and pretty women wish someone would look them in the eyes. Athletes make gains with pains while the aging, the injured and the sick have no gains, just losses. Whether it’s how you’re treated, how you feel or how you function, there is probably at least one way your flesh has failed you.
The House of Bodies grapples with that, the hatred of human frailty that’s hard to sieve out from hatred of self. It offers seductive solutions and tracks the progress of five souls as they navigate their struggles with themselves and each other. It’s a slow burner, but relatable.
If the House of Bodies can’t help you, you’re either perfect or you’re hopeless. You don’t think you’re perfect, do you?
